An offshoot of its casino cousin Karamba, Karamba Sports is a quirky looking platform with a particular penchant for price boosts. Using a unique system known as KaramBOOST, you can get more for your time online when you make accumulator bets at Karamba. However, that’s not the end of the story when you sign up and take a punt. To find out what’s hot and what’s not about this site, take a look at our expert Karama Sport review below.

Safety and Trustworthiness

As a brand, Karamba has been around since 2005. Owned by ASG Technologies Ltd, the company is based in the British Virgin Islands but now has a full licence from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC). From a safety and security standpoint, this means a couple of things. Firstly, Karamba Sports’ software has met certain safety standards with regards to access and data protection. Secondly, the odds offered are fair and all payments are processed and stored securely. Based on these facts, the site is safe and will handle your money and your personal details securely.

In practice, this doesn’t tell us too much about Karamba Sports on a day-to-day basis. In fact, every legal betting site in the UK needs to have a licence, which means the above points put Karamba on par with its peers. To get a better insight into what this site’s all about, we had to take a look at what the betting community had to say. One of the main things players seemed to have a problem with was withdrawals. According to Trustpilot users, unexpected processing delays were common. What’s more, the support team were reportedly slow to deal with any issues in this area.

On the positive side, other users were complimentary of the site’s software and the promotions. Although it’s worth remembering that individual cases may not be indicative of a site’s overall service, the slower than advertised cashout times should be taken into account before you sign up.

Deposits & Withdrawals

As mentioned, withdrawals appear to have been a problem for some players in the past. However, as per Karamba Sports’ terms and conditions, you should expect to receive your funds within five to seven days, a time-frame which includes a two-day pending period (weekdays only).

Another condition that’s worth noting with regards to the withdrawal process is that you’ll only be able to cashout $7,000 per month. VIPs can increase this up to a maximum of $50,000, but there’s no escaping the fact that $7,000 is a small amount compared to other sportsbooks. While we don’t expect every online operator to offer unlimited withdrawals (you can get this at some sites), we do think that $7,000 is below the level most mid and high-volume players will expect.

Mobile

Karamba does offer iOS and Android apps, but neither are designed specifically for sports betting. You have to download the casino application and then scroll through the menu to access the operator’s Yports betting markets. In practice, this isn’t a huge problem. However, during our review the software did crash as it attempted to switch from casino games to sports.

Once the app corrected itself, the range of features on offer was impressive. In addition to a full roster of sports and betting odds, the in-play markets feature virtual representations of the action. For example, when a football match is in progress, a pitch at the top of the page gives you an overview of the action.

Although it’s not quite the same as watching actual footage of a game, the graphics do allow you to see how a game is flowing and, in turn, refine your picks. Overall, the Karama Sports app has its positives and its negatives. Reliability was an issue, but the range of betting options and features is solid when you can finally access them.

Bet Offers

To welcome you to the family, Karamba Sports gives you £10 free bet once you’ve made an initial deposit and bet of £10+. As per the terms and conditions, your wager can only be used on events with odds of 1/1 (2.0) or greater. Additionally, your bet has to be settled within 14 days of being placed in order to be eligible for this deal.

Once you’ve met the entry requirements, you’ll receive a £10 free bet credits can be used on any single or accumulator bet with odds of 4/5 or higher. As well as your stake not being returned, the free token can’t be cashed out early or used for system bets such as a Trixie and Yankee bets.

In comparative terms, £10 is lower than many of our recommended sports betting sites. For example, at Betfair, you can get £30 in added value when you wager £10. Similarly, at SkyBet you can get a £20 in free credits when you stake just £5. On a more positive note, the minimum odds you have to accept aren’t restrictive. Additionally, the fact your free bet can be used to place an accumulator bet does mean you could earn a sizable return on your investment from this welcome offer.

Beyond the welcome bonus, the promotion that caught our eye was the KaramBOOST offer. KaramBOOST improves the odds of all accumulator bets by giving you additional returns. For example, if you make four correct picks on any “KaramBOOSTED” bet, you’ll get 4% more back than you would have otherwise. This dynamic is in place all the way up to a 15-fold bets where you can get 77% in extra winnings (up to a maximum of £11,000).

Betting Markets And Odds Quality

During our Karamba Sports review, we found that the average betting line was roughly equal to what you’ll find elsewhere online. As a test, we compared Karamba’s football odds to those offered by Betway Sports and BetStars. Looking at a recent Premier League match between Brighton and Manchester United, all three sites had the home side at 4/1. However, for those betting on an away win, the odds were slightly different: Karamba = 20/29, Betway Sports = 7/10 and BetStars = 8/11.

If you’re a small stakes punter, Karamba’s slightly lower odds won’t make much of a difference. Indeed, using the above example, you’d only be short £0.11 and £0.38 respectively. In contrast, if you’re a high roller, the difference could matter. Obviously, the price of an individual match shouldn’t be taken as a sign that Karamba Sports will always have lower odds. Indeed, the lines are close enough that we can say you’ll be getting roughly the same odds at Karamba as you will at other sites. But, as our evidence suggests, you may not always be getting the very best price.

Away from the quality of the odds offer, Karamba Sports does well in the options department. When you look down the left-hand side of the page, you’ll see 30 different sports on offer

Unfortunately, the one major omission from the list of option is horserace betting. Regarded as a standard for almost all the top online operators, horseracing helps to ensure a site has a constant stream of daily odds. Although Karamba does a good job creating markets from the sports it does cover, we can’t help but feel its overall product would be better if horseracing was added to the mix.

In-Play Betting

When it comes to live in-play betting, Karamba Sports has some nice features. Firstly, graphical and statistical overlays are attached to each live event. These provisions allow you to get a better insight into what’s going on and, therefore, make more informed choices. Another feature we liked was the “fast market” options. In an effort to speed up the action, fast markets ask a simple question and provide a simple answer. For example, if you’re betting on a football match, fast markets could include:

“In the next 1 minute, will there be…”

  • Goals? Yes
  • Corners? Yes
  • Fouls? Yes

Put simply, if you believe the answer to any of the questions posed will be yes, you can bet on it. These options may be a little bit too general for some, but it’s a style that does capture the dynamism of in-play betting.

Review Summary

Overall, it’s tough to say that Karamba Sports is up there with the UK’s top online bookies. Even though the average betting lines are solid and there are plenty of ways to ante up, the shortcomings we found are hard to ignore. Even if we accept the welcome bonus being smaller than the industry average, the fact horseracing isn’t on the sports menu is a blackmark we can’t erase. This isn’t to say Karamba Sports isn’t worth visiting, it is. The in-play betting options are great and price boosts do allow you to get some added value. It is one of the best new UK bookies that was lunched recently. However, if you’re looking for a complete sports betting experience, you may want to check out some of our other recommended betting sites.
