Buzz Bingo was born in 2015, when Gala Bingo sold its bingo halls business to Caledonia Investments plc, an investment trust company listed on the London Stock Exchange. While the Gala brand survives online, Buzz Bingo entered the online bingo market in autumn 2018, providing a friendly, welcoming interface that reflects the vibe at their bingo clubs up and down the country, and some fantastic games and bonuses to entice new online bingo players.

Safety and Trustworthiness

Buzz Bingo inherited a large chunk of Gala’s bingo business, including expertise built up since 1991. When you consider that the Gala brand was part of parent group Ladbrokes Coral, one of the biggest gambling companies in Europe, this is valuable pedigree. While the Buzz Bingo brand is now no longer associated with the Ladbrokes Coral family, it retains much of the trust and goodwill built up over years of offline and online bingo operating experience.

Caledonia Investments plc itself is a public company traded on the UK’s leading stock exchange. Caledonia is a highly regulated entity accountable to shareholders and the markets, as well as to industry regulators. From a trust point of view, this is a major corporate operator – not some fly-by-night bingo site that’s been hastily hung together. With nearly a century of experience in managing investments, combined with the institutional experience from the Gala Bingo days, Buzz is definitely a name you can trust.

Buzz Bingo is regulated in the UK by the Gambling Commission, as you should expect from any UK-facing bingo operator. Buzz Bingo is also registered with IBAS, the Independent Betting Adjudication Service. IBAS help mediate in disputes between players and gaming operators. So in addition to the Gambling Commission, that’s somewhere else you can turn in the unlikely event you were to run into problems with Buzz Bingo.

From a security point of view, Buzz Bingo carries the same industry-leading encryption that makes Gala Bingo such a safe playing environment. They might still be the new bingo kid on the block in some respects, but Buzz Bingo offers a high standard of security to its players, with payments facilitated by independent, regulated third party payment processors.

Deposits & Withdrawals

Buzz Bingo supports deposits and withdrawals through a variety of payment methods, with bingo deposit minimums starting at just £5. You will be required to verify your ID before withdrawal, as is a standard requirement of bingo sites, but this process is as streamlined as possible to prevent delays. Processing times are stated to be around 1-2 days which is around average. One thing to point out is that only PayPal is supported, no Skrill or Neteller

Bonuses and Promotions

Buzz Bingo offers new players the chance to spend £10 and get £30 in bonuses, through its bingo bonus offer. The offer applies to first time deposits only, and it goes without saying that you must be 18 and registering your first account with Buzz Bingo in order to qualify for the bonus.

The bonus is triggered when you deposit and spend £10, and comes in two parts – a £20 online bingo bonus plus a £10 bonus in the form of free spins. This is a nice offer for those that might enjoy the social side of playing bingo in person, as well as playing at Buzz Bingo online. Plus, you’ll also get 10 free spins on selected slots thrown into the bargain.

Crucially, these bonuses have zero wagering requirements. The bonus itself isn’t withdrawable, but anything you win from the bonus is immediately credited to your cash balance, which you can withdraw in the usual way. This is a major advantage over other similar bonuses, where even slight wagering requirements of 3-4x can make it a challenge to cash-out your bonus winnings.

This is an attractive bonus offer which has clearly been designed to help Buzz Bingo attract new players. Don’t bank on it lasting forever – with terms that are better than the bonuses offered by other major players. This is a welcome bonus offer you definitely don’t want to miss.

Buzz Bingo also runs a number of special and ongoing promotions, such as regular community jackpot games with prize funds starting at £5,000, as well as free bingo play on Thursdays, both online and at their bingo clubs.

Game Selection

Buzz packs in a decent selection of bingo games, including 75-ball, 80-ball and 90-ball rooms. There are also plenty of special rooms, such as Deal or No Deal bingo, Rainbow Riches bingo and Buzz Bingo Blast 36-ball – a rapid fire game that is sure to keep you on your toes!

Alongside the selection of bingo games, you’ll also find scratch cards, slots, casino games and instant wins, so there really is something for everyone. Buzz Bingo is part of the Playtech network, meaning players can benefit from bigger jackpots and busy games, as part of one of the UK’s leading bingo networks.

Mobile App

Buzz Bingo don’t have a mobile app for either Android or iOS players, although we expect this to be introduced in time. While this might be disappointing for some players, it’s not too hard to see why this has slipped down Buzz’s list of priorities – the responsive bingo site means you can play in browser on any smart device and enjoy the same high-quality gaming experience.

The layout feels familiar when you’re playing on mobile or tablet devices, with intuitive navigation and games that load up in a flash. While apps would be nice for the near future, in-browser play is a suitable alternative for the time being.

Review Summary

Buzz Bingo hasn’t been around for long, but they’re already making their mark on the UK bingo scene. Their bingo clubs nationwide have proved a hit with players since they rebranded from Gala, and the more recent online offering is already attracting new players in their droves.

For a new entrant, they’re already in a very strong position, giving some of the industry incumbents a run for their money. It’s not perfect, and things like mobile apps and more depositing options show there’s still room for improvement. But on balance, this is a good start from a bingo site that has a lot to offer both new and experienced players, and we’re excited to see where the Buzz offering goes from here. As a result, we have no hesitation in awarding Buzz Bingo an 8 out of 10, for its great bonuses, good selection of games and warm, friendly vibe.
