Overview
Launched in spring 2018, bCasino is one of the prominent new additions to the UK online casino scene. Owned and Operated by the British-based GS Technology Limited, bCasino is specifically aimed at UK players. Many new online casinos hit the ground running when first launched, but as our detailed Bcasino review will demonstrate, bCasino still has some work to do before we can confidently give it a thumbs up. It does however have some redeeming qualities, including a decent welcome offer and frequent promotions. Read our review to discover the highlights of bCasino and see where the wrinkles still need ironed out.
Safety and Trustworthiness
bCasino is licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. The UKGC is widely regarded as one of the world’s most diligent and strict licensing bodies, which should offer you some peace of mind if you choose to play and deposit at bCasino. As mentioned, the site is aimed specifically at UK players so, unlike the majority of other online casinos, it does not require dual licensing with an overseas regulatory body.
As for protecting your details, bCasino uses industry standard SSL/TLS encrypted connections. In addition, bCasino states: “we regularly monitor our systems for possible vulnerabilities and attacks, and seek new ways and tools for further enhancing the security of our services”.
Now, here’s the more worrying part. bCasino is owned and operated by GS Technology Limited, a company listed with a UK business address, but one which offers very scant information about itself online (including a website). That in itself does not mean that bCasino isn’t trustworthy, there are many good casinos that are privately owned but some players do like to be reassured that a visible, reputable company is behind their choice of online casino.
Indeed, when looking at what others say online, there is a mixture of good and bad feedback about bCasino. Some of these concerns are valid (discussed later in this review), some seem to have been addressed already by bCasino, whereas the majority should be taken with a pinch of salt.
However, it is very important to point out that bCasino seems to be actively engaging with players online: agreeing to deal with individual cases, answering questions and promising to take player feedback on board.
Deposits & Withdrawals
There are numerous options to deposit and withdraw at bCasino, including internet wallets like Neteller and Skrill. Not having PayPal as an option is certainly a negative, but there are some other handy methods available like paying by mobile.
One of the main gripes with bCasino is the lack of clarity with their deposit and withdrawal policy. For a start, they have a maximum withdrawal amount of £5000 per 30 days (plus the value of your deposits in that time). That’s something that won’t sit well with high-rollers, or even those of us who dream of hitting a big win in a jackpot slot. In fairness, bCasino has stated they are looking at this policy, but it should really be in line with its competitors.
Again, the minimum deposit policy is also not made abundantly clear. As a general rule, it seems to be between £10 for the most popular deposit methods (VISA, Neteller), but it can be up to £30 for some. To make matters more confusing, bCasino states it can “impose certain limits” which may “vary over time and deposit method” – highly ambiguous terms.
Bonuses
After some negativity comes at least on first view bCasino’s strongest point – it’s welcome Bonus. They offer a three-tiered package, which boils down to a £1200 bonus and 100 Free Spins. It is broken down as follows:
- 1st Deposit = Matched 100% up to £500 + 50 Free Spins.
- 2nd Deposit = Matched 50% up £200.
- 3rd Deposit = Matched 125% up to £500 + 50 Free Spins.
*promo code bNEW must be entered on registration.
By any objective measure, that’s quite an attractive welcome package. Some things to point out: All the free spins are for Book of the Dead slot only and have a value of £0.10 per spin. The wagering requirements for the bonus cash (and deposit amount) are 30x but this is on both the bonus + deposit ramping up the total amount you need to play-through. The wagering requirements for any winnings gained from those 100 Free Spins are slightly lower though at 25x. Please be aware that table and card games count 0% towards wagering and a long list of slots (including Book of the Dead) that only count 10% towards wagering.
Unfortunately there’s quite a few other ‘hitches’ to note: to receive any bonus after the first, you must have a balance less than £1 and have no pending withdrawals. So, make sure your winnings are on the way to the bank or play down your balance before aiming for the second and third parts of the welcome bonus. The bonus as a whole will also expire after 7 days and there’s a range of different bets you can’t make in your bonus clearing e.g. betting more than £ 5 per spin on a slot game
Overall, whilst this welcome offer seems an attractive one offering 2 reload bonuses after the initial match bonus and free spins, the raft of pretty harsh Ts and Cs make this a difficult casino bonus offer to recommend
Game Selection
Game selection is another area where bCasino delivers a mixed bag of results. On the plus side, it has over 500 slot games including some of our all-time favourites like Gonzo’s Quest, Twin Spin, Starburst and Cops n’ Robbers. They also have a good selection from the less well-known, yet highly recommended, games developers like Ainsworth, Lightning Box and Fugaso. On the other hand, there are no progressive jackpot slots on the site. Well, at least none that can be found after combing through the bCasino’s library of slots for oven an hour. That’s a really big miss from bCasino and something we would really like to see addressed.
bCasino also has an issue with its site navigation and layout. For example, if you click on its ‘Card and Table Games’ tab, you will find a mixture of live casino games, generic card and table games and, for some unknown reason, a handful of slots like Aladdin’s Legacy and Baker’s Treat. Looking under that tab you will find a limited amount of roulette games (Roulette with Track, European Roulette). This seems like bCasino offers a disappointing selection of roulette games, until you discover that there are more roulette options under the ‘Other Games’ tab. These are mixed in with arcade games and more live dealer options. This level of confusion and disorganisation is unnecessary and detracts from the site’s usability and player enjoyment, at least for a new player to the site .
The live dealer casino offers some redemption. The majority of games are powered by live dealer heavyweights Evolution Gaming, with another bunch of live tables provided by Extreme Gaming. This means you can experience some seriously good live dealer games, including VIP Blackjack, Speed Baccarat Live, Casino Hold’em and American Roulette Live.
Mobile App
bCasino has not yet released an app for iOS or Android platforms. However, it does offer a mobile responsive site, which will allow you to access your account and play games on your tablet or phone. There are some limitations, including a marked drop in the number of live casino games available. Still, with 300+ slots on offer, there is plenty to explore. In saying that, developing an app would be a smart move and perhaps act as an opportunity to address some of the layout issues mentioned in the section above.
Promotions
After playing through the Welcome Bonus, you will find a pretty generous selection of promotions that can help boost your play, although it is important to keep in mind that, as stated earlier, you must have a balance less than £1 and have no pending withdrawals to take advantage of the bonuses. A flavour of what’s currently available:
- Daily Reload Bonus of 50% up to £100.
- 50 Free Spins on weekend deposits of £10 or more.
- Monday Madness: Deposit £10 play with £25.
- 100% Deposit Bonus for Live Dealer Games each Thursday.
Support
bCasino offers customer support by live chat and email. You can also find answers to most of your questions in the Terms and Conditions section.
Review Summary
The frustrating aspect of bCasino is that most of the issues highlighted here are easily solvable. It would not take much effort to redesign some of the layout so that you could easily find the games you are looking for. Nor would it be difficult to set a coherent set of standards on deposits and withdrawals. From a business point of view, it is difficult to imagine any big money players wanting to play at a casino with a £5000 monthly withdrawal limit. The lack of jackpot slots is also something that needs to be changed.
On a brighter note, bCasino is a very good option for players who like frequent promos. Those daily reloads and other boosts should certainly be attractive to players who have the patience to play through wagering requirements. Its also good that bCasino’s management team seems to be engaging with players on gaming forums. If they can make a few tweaks and implement some of the feedback given here and elsewhere, there is every reason to believe the scores shown below could be a lot higher. For the time being we’re marking Bcasino with 6/10.
