There’s no place like space” – so says the tagline of Genesis Casino, an intergalactic online casino that burst onto the scene in 2018. Like a supernova, this space-themed casino has already made an impact, winning over new players with its stylish design, strong focus on games and live casino, and a welcoming bonus package for new players.

Genesis casino is run by Genesis Global Limited – but don’t let the name fool you, this is no one casino company. Genesis Global has an extensive track record of running successful online casinos, like Spinit Casino and VegasHero. So while Genesis Casino might be new, their parent company is anything but. Still, that only says so much so read our detailed Genesis casino review below to find out the nuts and bolts of its operation.

Safety and Trustworthiness

As a starting point, there’s comfort in knowing Genesis is part of a wider casino group. There’s always initial caution around any new casino site brand, and it’s only right that players do their due diligence first – with Genesis part of a group of casino brands, you can at least be sure you’re playing with a casino operator that has a proven track record of running fair, legitimate games. With multiple successful casino brands under management, you can play at Genesis with absolute confidence.

The casino itself is licensed in the UK by the Gambling Commission. This is a legal requirement for any casino accepting UK players, but it’s also additional peace of mind for anyone who feels games might be rigged or otherwise skewed against them. The UK Gambling Commission uphold compliance standards across the industry, with the power to fine and revoke licenses from non-compliant operators – by maintaining their UK license in good standing, that’s another good sign Genesis Casino is operating in a legitimate, trustworthy way.

Genesis is also licensed in Malta by the Malta Gaming Authority, so there are effectively two layers of independent oversight keeping them on the right lines. This ensures an even higher standard of transparency and accountability, so there can be no serious concerns about the trustworthiness of this casino.

There are some negative reviews about Genesis online, which is to be expected from any online casino. Overwhelmingly, the reviews are positive, but those that do have negative things to say seem to be posting the usual complaints – the type of stuff you could expect to read about any online casino, like withdrawal issues and bonus problems.

There’s no sign of any serious underlying concerns, or anything that would undermine our confidence in this brand. It’s just par for the course for any online casino, where invariably some players lose money or feel they’ve been shortchanged, and then immediately leave negative reviews online. This is still a trusted, licensed operator, so we wouldn’t read too much into it.

Security is more important now than ever, and casinos have little option these days but to take their players’ security seriously. Genesis ticks the box here, deploying industry-leading SSL encryption technologies to protect your information and game data.

Their secure servers join forces with independently secured payment providers to create a virtual environment that’s as robust as any online banking facility. Genesis scores top marks for player safety, to complete a strong showing for security & trust.

Deposits & Withdrawals

A relatively wide range of payment methods are supported for deposits and withdrawals, including Neteller and Skrill. Processing time is 0-48 hours, with payments to e-wallets within 24 hours and debit cards 1-3 days later – decent turnaround times, particularly for a new casino. One big downside though is the lack of PayPal support, pretty much a must for the UK. The maximum withdrawal is £5500 per week, or up to £22,000 per month.

Bonuses

The welcome bonus at Genesis Casino is geared towards enticing new players, with a headline rate of 100% up to £100, in the form of a deposit match bonus. This also comes with up to 300 free spins, subject to the bonus terms and conditions. On the face of things, this looks like an attractive pitch – but it’s only by examining the terms further that you decipher the limitations.

  • Open to new players only, and 18+ (standard terms for welcome bonuses)
  • Bonus is triggered from a minimum £10 deposit at 100% up to a maximum of £100.
  • The maximum bet from the bonus is £5.
  • Wagering requirements of 40x the bonus
  • Bonus is valid for 14 days.

The free spins are for the classic NetEnt Slot Starburst, and are awarded in batches of 30 per day for 10 days after you activate your bonus. Free spins are valid for 72 hours, and you get to keep anything you win, subject to the wagering requirements and any other applicable terms and conditions. It’s worth noting that Skrill and Neteller deposits are not eligible for this bonus.

The wagering requirements of 40x are about standard and Starburst is a high RTP slot, so the free spins should be valuable, too. While there are some restrictions, there’s nothing that feels overly excessive, and we’ve certainly seen much tighter bonuses elsewhere. It would be nice if there was the flexibility to claim the bonus with Skrill/Neteller deposits, and 40x is still a bit on the high side, but as it stands, this is still a decent bonus you can put to work for your new casino account.

Game Selection

If Genesis have done one thing really well, it’s by offering a really top selection of quality games, covering all the main casino genres. Table games fans can choose from multiple variants of casino classics like roulette, blackjack and baccarat, as well as some less mainstream casino games like keno.On the slots front, Genesis performs at its best, offering up games from developers including: Play’n GO and NYX Interactive lining up alongside industry stalwarts Microgaming and NetEnt.

This ensures hundreds of popular slots titles, including Starburst, Spartacus, Gonzo’s Quest and Immortal Romance, so you won’t be stuck for something new to play. You’ll also find a collection of progressive jackpot slots, where games such as Mega Moolah and Hall of Gods pay jackpots in the millions to their luckiest players.

The live casino at Genesis is another strong suit, provided by Evolution Gaming. The live casino is given extra prominence on the site’s main navigation bar, and it’s easy to see why – a huge selection of different games (70+) streaming in high quality video with real human dealers makes for an impressive playing experience.

The software is top notch loading quickly and performing well in-game. We had no problems navigating the site on either desktop or mobile versions – with such a simple, yet elegant design, it’s hard not to feel immediately comfortable with how it all works. With a total game selection of over 800+, the games library at Genesis matches some of the best UK casinos including Casumo and Dunder and only really falling short against Videoslots‘ 1000+ games

Mobile App

Genesis Casino site is fully responsive, loading natively on any mobile or tablet. It’s the same site you get on a laptop or PC, but rendered perfectly for your device. Head over to the site by typing in the URL on your phone’s browser, and within seconds, you can log-in and enjoy over 670 different casino games. The games and menus are quick to load, and the simple interface makes playing on mobile a pleasure. A seamless experience with the desktop site, this is a sign of their focus on mobile players.

Unfortunately, there’s no app, so you’re left with in-browser play as your only option for mobile. This has its advantages, and Genesis do try to spin the positives, but this is definitely something they should be seriously thinking about if they want to compete with other casinos. iOS and Android casino apps would complete the mobile experience, and build on what is already a slick interface for mobile casino gaming.

Promotions

At the time of writing Genesis was offering a small line-up of promotions under its ‘Promotions’ tab, all of which would hold appeal to most players. Fancy a seven-night luxury cruise around the Mediterranean? It’s being given away as a prize draw for Genesis Casino players. All you have to do is bet a cumulative total of £50 before the end of the promo period to get 1 ticket for the draw. It’s innovative, and it’s a nice promotion running alongside the other casino-specific bonuses.

There are ongoing promotions like Lightspeed Mondays, where weekly free spins are doled out, plus a Weekly Bonus mission for extra perks. Each promotion has its own terms and conditions, but they’re designed to be a fun extra for loyal players. In keeping with the new player bonus bonus, the promotions seem fair, with respectable terms and conditions that don’t do too much to restrict their use. On balance, the promotions are another strong area for Genesis casino.

Review Summary

New casinos tend to take some time to find their feet, and to iron out their early issues. It doesn’t seem to have played out like this for Genesis, who have already put together a seriously good online casino, with a generous welcome package for new players.

The games are plentiful and high quality, whether you’re playing progressive slots or live blackjack. Likewise the welcome bonus, particularly the bountiful free spins, which can be a good incentive to stick around after you’ve made that first qualifying deposit.

There are some areas for improvement – a mobile app and PayPal support being the main ones, and or perhaps, if we’re picky, a little more wiggle room on some of the bonus terms. But when you weigh it all up, this is a casino that’s doing a good job for the vast majority of its players. As a result, we’re awarding Genesis 8 out of 10 – really only perhaps with a few more years under their belt and some reasonably small improvements, this could be upgraded to a 9 or 10.
