Overview
Big on Bets is an online casino that’s larger than life. As the name suggests, they’re ‘big’ on offering a wide range of high quality games, and providing a service that keeps players coming back for more thanks to their generous bonuses and impressive ongoing promotions. A relatively new entrant to the online gaming market, having launched in late 2017, Big on Bets is off to a promising start. Owned and operated by Continental Gaming (Malta) Ltd., which also operates Villa Fortuna casino for non-UK players, the Big on Bets team have already established a track record for fair play. Safety and Trustworthiness
As a starting point, Big on Bets is fully legally compliant, across two separate regulators. For players in the UK, it’s the Gambling Commission that provides the oversight and reassurance you need to know you’re dealing with a legitimate casino site. For players elsewhere, the casino is regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority. This means there are essentially two different, independent regulators, holding Big on Bets to account – ideal for peace of mind, and for knowing you’re getting a fair deal.
The Big on Bets platform is secure, and relies on a combination of on-site and third-party encryption to safeguard your data. Payment information is handled by encrypted third-party payment processors, which means your most sensitive financial information stays private, and secured against external attacks. As casino websites go, it would be hard to get more secure than Big on Bets.
The company behind Big on Bets, Continental Gaming (Malta) Ltd., is responsible for several other small casino brands, including Casino Dukes. Established in 2010, the parent company has developed a reputation across its brand portfolio, with Big on Bets their latest product to hit the market. While this particular casino remains a more recent addition to the lineup, it is by no means Continental Gaming’s debut casino venture – good news for players who’d rather not experiment with a brand new or unproven operator.
At the time of review, there was very little in the way of complaints or negative feedback about Big on Bets. This isn’t a guarantee of anything, in itself, and especially given the age of the casino, there could well be room for more positive and negative reviews in future. However, the fact that they have been operating since 2017 without much of a negative online profile is testament enough, given that even the biggest corporate operators attract their fair share of bad reviews. It’s fair to say on this basis that Big on Bets checks all the boxes for both security and trust.
Deposits & Withdrawals
Big on Bets offers a fairly standard lineup of payment methods, with Visa, Mastercard, Skrill and Neteller options available. Note, it’s not possible to withdraw by bank transfer which some players will find restrictive – especially in the case of larger withdrawals, and it doesn’t offer PayPal processing a big minus for any gaming sites that wants a share of the UK casino market. Pending time is 24 hours, and e-wallet payments range from instant to 24 hours after processing, while card withdrawals can take up to 7-10 days.
Bonuses
When it comes to the casino bonus this is arguably where Big on Bets puts their best foot forward. The bonus comes in two stages: a no deposit bonus followed by a match deposit bonus for when it’s time to make that first deposit.
New players can claim a free £10 no deposit bonus, with the code BIG10. There is no deposit required to claim the bonus, but other terms and conditions apply. Firstly, there’s a wagering requirement of 40x (a standard multiplier) for the free amount before you can cash out, and you are required to make a deposit of minimum £20 to be eligible to cash out from the free bonus. Your maximum winnings are also capped at £100 from the free offer, but it’s still a decent and rare no deposit welcome for new players checking out Big on Bets for the first time.
When you’re ready to make that first deposit, you can roll immediately into the deposit bonus – a match bonus, based on the size of your first deposit. A bonus of up to £250 at 125% of your deposit is available and the same 40x wagering requirement applies to the deposit bonus as to the no deposit bonus. The relevant code you need here is BIG125, which will allow you to claim this bonus as you’re making that first deposit.
There is a £20 minimum deposit required to trigger the bonus, and the bonus must be claimed within 7 days to be eligible. There are also contribution rules and some other restrictions, so it’s important to read the offer terms and conditions before you choose to accept this bonus. The maximum cash-out from the bonus stands at £1,000.
As a welcome package goes, this is essentially two bonuses for the price of one. The terms and conditions feel on the generous side of standard, making this a decent enough bonus for new players. The maximum cash-out on the deposit bonus of £1,000 will feel restrictive for some players, but on balance, these two bonuses work out to a generous welcome package for new players.
Game Selection
Big on Bets puts a lot of stock in the selection of slot games on offer and most players will find something to suit their needs. There’s a good number of slots and progressive slots with the likes of Age of Spartans, Break the Bank and Stars N Stripes making for an entertaining array of slots action. Table game fans may find the selection more than a little disappointing though with no live dealer games on offer.
The casino is powered by Saucify (BetsOnSoft) software with Genii as the primary software provider for its games. This shows a level of focus and specialization from Big on Bets, and players do report positive experiences from casinos running this software. The slots game selection doesn’t feel limited, although most other casinos nowadays do carry a broader range of licensed games.
This is definitely one area though where Big on Bets could improve upon, by bringing on board games from more recognizable software providers such as Netent and Microgaming, broadening the range of games and making it easier for Big on Bets to compete with some of the bigger players in the industry.
Games are played through your browser and its easy to find your way around the games on offer. The interface feels welcoming and intuitive – even if you don’t have much experience of online casinos. The graphics are well put together, if not a little rough around the edges in some parts. Overall the games load well, there’s little lag and and the entire software and games experience is smooth.
Mobile App
Big on Bets is compatible with your mobile and tablet thanks to their responsively designed website. This means you’ll have no compatibility issues, and you’ll be able to login to your account on any device. The website loads quickly in any mobile browser, and offers a parallel experience to desktop, except for the slightly smaller range of games available. Still, not having a mobile app (iOS or Android) can only be seen as big minus and something which we hope they rectify soon.
Promotions
Promotions are organised throughout the year and you can keep up to date with the latest offers and bonuses on the ‘Promotions’ tab, available from the main menu navigation. Aside from special promos, there are also ongoing retention offers, designed to keep players coming back and rewarding long-term play.
On Tuesdays for instance there’s an invite-only match offer where you can earn 300% up to £300 on deposits over £20 (use code Treat30). On Wednesdays, there’s the same offer, except you can earn 40% up to £200 in bonus credit for a single deposit (with the code MAGIC40). Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays offer 25% up to £100, and that’s across 2 separate deposits, which can be triggered with the code BIGBANG25.
Each of these bonuses is subject to the same minimum deposit of £20, and a wagering requirement of 40x. A 7 day window to use these bonuses applies, as does the usual contribution terms, and other standard terms and conditions.
Alongside these promotions, you’ll also find a VIP scheme and a general loyalty programme, rewarding players who stick around with redeemable points for bonuses and other treats.
Support
Support options are good with live chat and phone available 24/7
Review Summary
Big on Bets might be a newer addition to the online casino world, but it brings with it the backing and experience of a more established operator in Continental Gaming (Malta) Ltd. This is reflected in the reliable gaming software, and the decent selection of slot games available.
Their 2-step welcome bonus is a good enough start for new players, and the bonus credit can be put to good use in getting a feel for how the site works and even winning some money if you’re lucky. The range of deposit and withdrawal methods is acceptable and the ongoing promotions means it pays to stick around.
If there were grounds for improvement, a mobile app might be one place to start. Similarly, Big on Bets still needs to refine some graphical elements, but it’s clear these are being revised on a regular basis. It would also be good to see some more software developers supported, but for the time being what’s there will be sufficient for most casino players.
On this basis, Big on Bets gets a 7 out of 10 – it’s pretty ok to good as things stand, and by taking the obvious opportunities for further improvement there’s no reason Big on Bets can’t go on to develop a much bigger reputation.
