Launched in 2018, MoPlay Casino is a slick new gaming site from the team behind MoPlay Sports. MoPlay prides itself as a mobile-first site, with a focus on delivering games through an innovative casino app. However, you can still play games on desktop or through the MoPlay mobile casino site. One of the best free spins bonus offers around awaits new players at MoPlay, yet there are a few issues that still need to be ironed out. Read on for the full MoPlay Casino review.

Safety and Trustworthiness

MoPlay is owned and operated by Addison Global Limited, a company whose base at the top of the Gibraltar World Trade Centre is perhaps a symbol of their ambition to be one of the biggest betting brands on the planet. Indeed, MoPlay has recently signed official partnership deals with Manchester United and Watford FC, suggesting it wants to be seen as a premium betting and gaming brand.

While relatively new in the UK gaming scene, Addison Global Limited has already got a good reputation. Licencing and oversight for MoPlay is provided by the UK Gambling Commission, which is widely regarded as one of the most rigorous regulatory bodies around. More importantly, MoPlay has agreed to testing procedures by eCOGRA, an independent organisation who carry out checks that payouts are fair and reported accurately. RTP (Return to Player) figures are available for each game in the Game Help section.

In terms of player disputes, MoPlay has partnered with IBAS (Independent Betting Adjudication Service) to work with any complaints that cannot be solved directly. However, in a move often overlooked by other operators, MoPlay has provided clear details on complaints procedures, betting rules, maximum payouts and so on. Links for these sections are provided at the bottom of the MoPlay homepage on the app and desktop sites.

As MoPlay is a relatively new casino site, there isn’t a huge amount of player feedback in terms of comments or reviews. Generally, most commentary is positive, with players keen to cite swift customer service responses. A common gripe, one that seems to dog all casino sites now, is that players will take to review sites to complain about document verification. It’s now necessary in almost all UK casinos and sportsbooks, so players’ complaints about it should be taken with a pinch of salt. MoPlay takes about two days on average to verify identification for players, which is a fairly quick turnaround time in comparison to others

Deposits & Withdrawals

There isn’t a huge amount of payment methods offered by MoPlay though enough to cover all the bases. Withdrawal times seem to be a little bit erratic, with some players citing longer than the two-day processing time quoted by MoPlay, and others suggesting the process is much quicker.

Bonuses

MoPlay has decided to follow the trend of several other casinos by offering wager-free spins as part of the welcome offer. There is, however, a marked difference in MoPlay’s welcome offer – it’s much more generous than the norm. When you deposit £10, you will receive 60 free spins without wagering requirements on one of the following NetEnt slots:

  • Aloha: Cluster Pays
  • Gonzo’s Quest
  • Finn and the Swirly Win
  • BerryBurst Max

Spins are valued at £0.20 each, meaning you will get £12 worth of spins on whichever of the four slots you choose. This is a very strong bonus offer, especially for low stakes players, and one that seems to dwarf the no-wager free spins bonuses from most of MoPlay’s competitors. Reading through the terms and conditions, there are no maximum win caps or other restrictions on the free spins. However, you must opt-in and use the free spins within 48 hours of their being credited to your account. In the unlikely event that your free spins winnings remain idle in your account for 365 days, they will be removed by MoPlay.

Game Selection

The choice of games at MoPlay is quite limited, certainly in comparison to other online casinos out there. A total of 152 games on the desktop site seems a little flimsy, as rival casinos have perhaps five or ten times that number on offer. On the other hand, there are some strong points within that limited selection. For a start, MoPlay has a nice selection of Red Tiger games, with around 20 in total. These include certain titles, such as Masquerade and Arcade Bomb, that you won’t often find at other casino sites.

Other software providers include NetEnt, Quickspin, iSoftBet and Play N’ Go, so you will find the likes of well-known titles, such as Jack Hammer, Coins of Egypt and Dead or Alive, mixed in with less common choices, King Colossus, the Wild Chase and Spinions Beach Party. In short, while the selection of slots is limited, there is a decent variety within that selection.

There is just a small range of progressive jackpot games offered by MoPlay. Five of the seven in total are slots, including NetEnt’s Hall of Gods, Mega Fortune and Arabian Nights. Two of the jackpot games, Texas Hold’em Bonus and Casino Hold’em, are offered by Evolution Gaming through the live casino.

Thirteen virtual table games can be played at MoPlay, covering roulette, blackjack, baccarat and poker. Again, it’s not a huge selection, and we would like to see a better variety of virtual games. For example, there are four virtual roulette games, all of which are standard versions of European Roulette.  There is certainly room to add American roulette, and perhaps multi-wheel or 3D versions of the game to broaden the offering.

MoPlay gets some redemption with its stellar choice of 21 live dealer games. In this case, the variety is better, offering options for American and European roulette, including Speed Roulette and Immersive Roulette. There are around half a dozen live blackjack games, with a special focus going on the exclusive Manchester United Live Blackjack game. While the game itself is standard fare, the branding of the tables and gameplay might be attractive to the millions of fans of the famous football club.

MoPlay has been very vocal of its intentions to host a slick and innovative gaming site. By and large, the desktop site holds up to that promise. MoPlay has gone for a minimalist approach to the design, something that players tired of constant pop-ups and banner ads will welcome. Navigation is easy – a process aided by the small selection of games – but you can find and load up games from different providers with the minimum of fuss. A neat touch is that MoPlay has added clearly-defined guides and gaming rules procedures to the site. For example, you can find a guide to the maximum payouts of all casino games linked at the bottom of the site.

Mobile App

MoPlay, as you might guess by the name, is described as a mobile-first casino. Does this description count for much in an era when the experience on mobile sites and desktop sites is usually pretty much the same? The answer is both yes and no. MoPlay has an excellent app for casino, which is combined with the sports betting app. You can download the MoPlay app for any relatively modern Android or iOS device. The app has got the same minimalistic style as the desktop site, with navigation being fast and easy. Apparently, there were some issues with bugginess when the app first launched, but MoPlay has recently put out a statement saying those were fixed and it seems to be working perfectly right now.

In terms of games on the app, you are looking at a similar selection to the desktop site when it comes to slots and virtual games. With live games, the app has 19 titles, with roulette, blackjack, poker and baccarat all covered. In a sign that perhaps all the wrinkles have yet to be ironed out of the app, MoPlay lists a total of 38 live dealer games on mobile. But, on closer inspection, each title has been replicated, so the final total does stand at 19.

In summary, the mobile app – and you can simply play on the mobile site without downloading – has a nice feel and is easy to use. It does, however, suffer from the same issues as the MoPlay desktop site; namely, a limited gaming selection. Moreover, there are no special bonus offers or promos for mobile casino players.

Promotions

Aside from the welcome offer, other promotions seem a little bit thin on the ground at MoPlay, although you can get free bets when you switch over to play at the MoPlay sportsbook. MoPlay ran a Christmas promotion throughout the month of December, offering players daily free spins, reload bonuses and so on. However, we would really like to see MoPlay have some clearly stated frequent promotions for players to take advantage of. Players have listed good experiences of getting tailored offers when reviewing MoPlay, but again it would be good to see firm promotions if MoPlay is to attract new players. Indeed, the lack of loyalty or VIP schemes is something we would also recommend that MoPlay addresses in the future.

Review Summary

MoPlay Casino has a nice welcome offer, one that would be perfect for first-time or low stakes casino players. We would definitely like to see two areas addressed: the number of games on the site and the lack of regular weekly promos. Fix those two issues and MoPlay will be a worthy addition to the UK casino landscape. For the moment, we will reserve any condemnation, as the MoPlay site is only a few months old, but we would like to see the casino site grow in stature over the coming year if MoPlay really wants our thumbs up. Right now, it gets 7/10, a score beefed up by the cool site design and refreshing welcome bonus, but more work is needed.
