Overview
Starting out life as an online sportsbook in 2017, RedZone Sports Casino is a multi-software casino that’s something of a mixed bag. On the positive side, the selection of casino games is solid and there are some great prizes available if you’re a loyal player. On the flip-side, the bonus conditions are tough for low volume players. To shed some more light on why this site delivers in some areas but comes up short in others, read our detailed RedZone Casino review.
Safety and Trustworthiness
to start with RedZone Sports Casino is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC). In addition to this its registered to IBAS and has a 4/5 star rating on UK Trustpilot. Based on this, there’s no doubt the site is a legitimate operation. However, there are some areas where improvements are required. For example, The Pogg has given the site a 2/10 rating for trustworthiness. This low score isn’t based on anything sinister. But, the reviewers did feel that the bonus terms and conditions were oo harsh for the average player.
Reviewers have noted what they see as a “predatory dormancy policy”. Basically, if your account is inactive for six months, RedZone reserves the right to charge you an administration fee. The most severe charge is account closure and the forfeiture of any funds in said account. That’s certainly a red flag. From our perspective, we don’t like this condition but it’s something you’ll only have to worry about if you leave your account dormant for an extended period of time. Active players that stick to the rules shouldn’t run into too many issues.
Deposits & Withdrawals
RedZone Sports Casino doesn’t cover itself in glory when it comes to payments. For deposits and withdrawals, you’ll have just two options: Visa or MasterCard. Unlike e-wallets such as PayPal, Skrill and Neteller, credit/debit cards don’t allow you to receive your withdrawals instantly, having to wait between two and five days to see your funds. In contrast, virtually all of our other reviewed casinos offer a much wider range of depositing methods including eWallets and pay by phone bill methods such as Boku.
Bonuses
Using our sign-up link gives you a casino welcome deal of up to £100. To get the deal, you’ll need to create an account and enter the bonus code RZSLOTS100 before you make your first deposit. After doing this, deposit at least £10 and you’ll receive a 100% bonus to us on any real money games at RedZone Casino.
To withdraw your free funds, you’ll have to meet some fairly tough wagering conditions though. The first is that you have to wager x60 your deposit amount. Whilst having 30 days to meet this requirement helps, this is still x20 more than the industry average of x40 and x35 more than Dunder Casino which offers a x 25 play-through on their welcome bonus. Depositing £100 therefore will require £6,000 in wagering to unlock the casino bonus which puts this bonus out of reach for all but the most serious gamers.
Another point to consider is the fact 50% of your bets must be on slots. Generally, we’d advise you to play slots anyway because they have a 100% contribution weighting to the bonus, however it’s nice to have a choice in this matter.
Game Selection
NetEnt’s software forms the backbone of RedZone Sports Casino, while Microgaming, Play N’ Go, iSoftBet and Evolution Gaming bring something extra into the mix. The natural consequence of being powered primarily by NetEnt is that RedZone Casino is fairly slots heavy. In terms of video slots, the instant play software gives you access to 490 spinners, including big name titles such as Jumanji, Twin Spin Deluxe and the Fairytale Legends series. For big money slots, you’ll find 11 games such as Cosmic Fortune, Mega Moolah and Divine Fortune.
One of the more interesting gaming options we found were the “reward slots”. Although these games are available in the main lobby, the promo team picks out six titles to apply special bonuses to. Put simply, when you play these games, you’ll earn Reward Points. For every real money bet you place on the designated reward slots, you’ll receive points. Unfortunately, RedZone doesn’t say exactly how much you have to bet in order to earn a single point. However, once you’ve accrued enough points, you can exchange them for prizes. At the lowest level, you can turn reward spins into free spins. As you climb the ladder, you’ll be able to purchase exclusive gifts such as Gucci watches, computers and jewellery.
Online video poker, roulette, blackjack, table poker, baccarat, craps and casual games make up the rest of the gaming lobby. As you’d expect demo tables are available and betting limits range from an affordable £0.10 to £1,000+ for live casinos games. Another feature we enjoyed was the live casino feed. In among the studio-based live dealer games such as Lightening Roulette, Dream Cather and Blackjack, you’ll find Hippodrome Roulette. Powered by Evolution, this table is broadcast directly from London’s Hippodrome Casino. Using something known as “dual play”, you basically get to bet at the same time as people in the bricks and mortar venue.
Finally, in case you fancy a break from casino games, RedZone also offers live and virtual sports betting. Covering sports from around the world, including major football, horse racing and tennis, the sportsbook is a great way to keep things interesting.
625+ casino games puts RedZone into the top tier of casinos with regards to game choice. However, if there is one minor criticism we have, it’s that the software is a little slow to load. Despite being an instant play Flash platform, there is a lag between you clicking and the site reacting.
Mobile App
To play on the go, you can download the RedZone Sports app. Designed for iOS and Android devices, the software offers an almost identical experience to the desktop site. From an aesthetic perspective, the layout is the same and each gaming category is neatly separated into groups. As with the desktop site, you’ll get to play slots, jackpot games, reward slots as well as live and virtual table games. Even though the number of games has been reduced to 377, its still a lot more than many of the leading mobile casino sites. Again thoughuUnfortunately, the software is slow to load. Despite being optimized for mobile devices, the casino app suffers from the same lag as its desktop counterpart which is disappointing.
Promotions
Reward slots are your way to earn points and prizes at RedZone Sports Casino. If this promotion doesn’t pique your interest, the site has plenty of sports betting offers. Of course, as a casino operator, we’d love to see more bonuses tailored towards this section of the site. However, there is added value in the form of free bets, daily specials and custom wagers if you’re willing to visit the sportsbook. Again, it’s worth noting that the terms and conditions on some of the bonuses are a little restrictive. Low stakes players will struggle to get much value from the promotions at RedZone Casino.
Support
RedZone Sports Casino has two points of contact available seven days a week between the hours of 12pm and 10p
Review Summary
RedZone is a new casino and as is the case with all new entrants on the market there’s work to be done on getting more depositing methods and support options for players. The bonus terms and conditions make it almost prohibitive for low stakes players and we did get the feeling reviewing the site that the terms were set almost on purpose to steer away from the casino bonus market. If you can get away from these areas, or they’re not a factor for you, there are some nice things in RedZone’s favor namely the good range of slots (far better than the ‘Playtech’ only sites offered by more bookies; the good mobile app and ‘rewards’ slots. For us its a solid 7/10, we’ll be keeping an eye on this brand, with a couple of big pushed it can quickly push itself up to an 8/10
