Overview
Established in 1934, William Hill has always been one of the most recognised UK betting brands. In 2007, William Hill Bingo was launched, quickly becoming one of the popular online bingo sites in Britain. Other than the William Hill brand itself, the site has no gimmicks or niche selling points. However, it is abundantly clear that those behind William Hill Bingo are clearly passionate about the game, offering players a polished product, with one of the most varied choices of bingo games anywhere online.
Safety and Trustworthiness
William Hill has been operating as a bookmaker for 84 years now with the parent company, William Hill PLC, is listed on the London Stock Exchange. Of course, the sheer size of the company instills trust in players, but it is good to know that William Hill is regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, as well as the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner for overseas players.
Security and encryption measures used by William Hill are, in fact, somewhat stronger than the average bingo site. It uses AES 128-bit encryption and Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) for transactions over the internet. A security certificate has been signed by Thawte, one of the world’s most trusted Certificate Authorities.
Generally, review sites give positive feedback about William Hill Bingo, although, given the sheer size of the company, there are always a few grumbles about its other products.
Deposits & Withdrawals
William Hill Bingo offers a broad range of depositing methods, with popular options like PayPal, Paysafecard and Skrill all covered. You can reverse a withdrawal within six hours, with processing times lasting 24 hours.
Bonuses and Promotions
William Hill recently changed their bingo bonus from one based around free games to a classic match bonus offering a £25 bonus when you spend £5 on tickets. As always with match bonuses the devil is in the details, here’s the main Ts and Cs to be aware of
- £25 bonus needs to be wagered x4
- Players must opt-in and the bonus expires 4 day from registration
- Bonus must be used within 7 days of it being awarded
- Tickets must be used on certain rooms including Bingo bowl, Day at the Races, Community room
Overall, this is just an ‘ok’ bonus the multiplier of x 5 the deposit is fine, but the wagering demands are a little steep and 7 days doesn’t give much time to spend £100 on tickets. With other bonus sites requiring x2 or x3 wagering as well as including free spins as part of the welcome offer we think William Hill have missed an opportunity in their bonus re-structuring.
Other than this deposit bonus William Hill Bingo offers ongoing promos which are all quite good. There’s the usual mix of cheap tickets and promotions, but the highlight is arguably the Crazy Weekends promo, which offers £50,000 in a guaranteed prize pool.
The Loyalty Points scheme has been revamped recently. As you might expect, points are earned for playing bingo (£1 = 1 point), slots (£10 = 1 point) or scratchcards (£5 = 1 point). At the base level (Little Duck), you can earn 50p for 75 points (£75 worth of bingo tickets). You will get a better exchange rate as you progress up the levels. Halfway House (the 3rd level), for example, offers an exchange rate of 50p for 40 points. The top level (Top of the Shop) is by invitation only. You will get an exchange rate of 50p for 25 points. To be frank, as an invite only promotion, earning 50p for playing £25 worth of bingo or £250 worth of slots is not terribly exciting.
Game Selection
William Hill is part of the Playtech Bingo Network (Virtue Fusion), which is one of the largest and most well-respected online bingo developers.
There is a very good choice of rooms and bingo variants, with games literally starting every 30 seconds across 90, 75, 80, 40 and 50 ball variations.. You can choose from 22 rooms in total, with the highlights being the themed rooms like Deal or No Deal, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Rainbow Riches. William Hill Bingo also has the exclusive Cash Cubes Bingo room, a special 36 ball variant which has been a hit with players.
Just over 100 slots are available to play. You will find well known Playtech slots like Age of the Gods: Lord of Lightning and Wild Gambler, but also slots specifically popular with bingo players, like Fluffy Favourites, Rainbow Riches and 99 Time.
A big downside is the fact that there are only three table games available to play: Blackjack, Roulette and 3D Roulette. While 13 different jackpot games, some of which have paid out over £1 million is a solid proposal to encourage play, 13 doesn’t feel as large a stable as one might expect. William Hill does of course offer hundreds of casino and slots titles from the William Hill casino and Vegas sites. These can be accessed once you’ve signed up to William Hill Bingo, so that might play a part in its decision to limit (relatively speaking) the number of games on the bingo site. Of course you can also bet at its most famous brand – William Hill Sports once you’ve signed up.
On a positive note, the navigation and layout of the site is excellent. William Hill Bingo had a revamp recently, moving to a HTML5 format. It stripped the site down, going for a sleeker, minimalist approach, and it’s all the better for it. The new tools to sort out the bingo rooms and variants, ranking them by prize, ticket cost, number of players etc., are especially welcome.

Mobile App
You can download the William Hill Bingo app for iOS and Android phones and tablets. HTML5 works very well with modern devices, so, again, there is a nice feel about the design and layout of the site on the app. The site is mobile responsive, so you can sign up and play on mobile without downloading the app if that is preferred.
You will get access to exactly the same bingo rooms (22) as the desktop site, and the majority of slots (96) also make it to the app. Unfortunately, there are no extra incentives in terms of promotions and bonuses for mobile players.
Support
You can contact William Hill support 24/7 through email, live chat and free phone. International free phone numbers are also listed on the help section of the site if required.
Review Summary
As a site to play online bingo games, there are few better options than William Hill Bingo. A nice choice of rooms, broad range of games and a well-laid out, attractive site. However, it is marked down somewhat by a poor welcome offer and uninspiring loyalty scheme. It still gets a solid mark because it scores highly in all other measures, but those two factors are holding a good site back from becoming a great one.
